It seems someone has been paying attention to my whining. For the first time in YEARS, we are going to have an honest to goodness Mechwarrior game! And none of that “Dark Ages” crap that they tried to pull with the clix games, they’re going back to the beginning with this one!
Supposedly, the story will take place long before the clan invasion, and so it’ll probably only use the tried and true 3010 Inner Sphere technology from the old sourcebooks. If they do it right this means no OmniMechs, no Extended Range energy weapons, and no aw who the hell cares? It’s 100 ton walking death machines with modern graphics! YAY!!!!!
I thought about posting that when I saw it, but I had a feeling you’d sniff it out pretty fast. The Mechasault games for the Xbox were pretty sweet, especially the first one, so I’ve got high hopes. I know its going to be on the PC but you should add this to the reasons to get a 360 so we can play online.
Supposedly, they’re going to work on the same multiplayer platform that they did for ShadowRun. This means people from different platforms would be able to play against each other. Not that I wouldn’t love a 360, but MW is just one of those games you play with a joystick and keyboard.
