Sorry to get your hopes up. This is just a hypothetical discussion.

After a couple of disastrous prequels, it was KotOR that restored my faith in the Star Wars franchise. In fact, I found KotOR's plot to be superior to the prequels'.

So how about a KotOR movie trilogy? If they did it right, it would be totally awesome. Particularly if George Lucas remained uninvolved.

Who would you cast? Here's some of my ideas.

Christian Bale…………Darth Revan

Kate Beckinsale………Bastila Shan

Ron Perlman………….Canderous Ordo

Danny Glover………..Jolee Bindo

Ioan Gruffudd………..Carth Onasi

Vin Diesel………………Darth Malak

Kristoffer Tabori……..HK-47

Bale would just be for the coolness factor, and Beckinsale looks and sounds just like her character. Glover might be good for Jolee's comic relief, and Vin Diesel as Malak is just so i could take that villain seriously. Kristoffer Tabori did the in-game voice over for HK, so I dont see why he couldn't do it in the film either.

What do you think?

Actually, I'm totally fine leaving KOTOR as a game.  Maybe a novel series if you must, but never a movie.  I like the story behind it a great deal, and it's just Star Wars enough to be familiar without being so Skywalker-centric that we're stuck with that storyline.

Problem is, it's so open and so immersive that I think watching someone else portray it on screen would be a let down.

NOW, a KOTOR3 with a celbrity cast would be much better (much like how BioWare got celbrities for different characters).

I'm with Zuke.  KotOR needs to be left as a game.  Although, mention of Kate Beckinsale in the cast did get my interest.

I routinely check the net for KotOR 3 rumors.  I hope that they do it soon and do it well.

IMHO, the major problem would just be if they didn't do it right, and I'm sure every player has their own version of what is best.

Especially regarding who Revan was, despite the canonization of the light-side male human character.

Really, my sentiment derives from a desire for more Star Wars films, preferably without bizarre Lucas interpolations (I really think he must be trying to destroy his own masterpiece).

So if they were to make more films in the Star Wars universe outside of the usual time and place, what better than KotOR? It would just have to be so ridiculously good that it wouldn't disappoint the fans. As I previously mentioned, I actually prefer the Revan storyline to the Anakin storyline.

But my worry about a KotOr III game is that they won't actually make it all, especailly with the supposed announcement of a KotOR MMORPG. Does no one remember how awful Star Wars: Galaxies was? Why ruin KotOR like that? They just want a Star Wars WoW. :(

I'm actually praying for a Mass Effect MMO.  That'd be much cooler, and BioWare wouldn't have to pay anything to LucasArts.

After briefly experimenting with the “gateway drug” World of WarCraft a few years back, I don't think I'll ever play another MMORPG.
Looks like I'll just be sticking with my regular CRPGs, plus of course my standard RTS and TBS fare.
