TRON: Uprising pilot online now

TV networks have decided to jump on the trend of releasing the pilots for new TV series online before they air on television.  Disney XD has released “Beck’s Beginning”, the pilot for the new TRON: Uprising series, almost a month before the June 7th air date.  As a major TRON fan, I loved this pilot.  Set before the TRON: Legacy movie, it talks about the programs who try to fight Clu’s tyranny.  Here is the episode for you to enjoy.

The Dark Knight Is Rising

In case you’ve missed it, a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises has been released into the wild, and it’s pretty awesome.  We get to see a lot of Bane, Catwoman, Generic Police Officer portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and of course, some Batman.  However, this newest trailer has raised a few questions in my mind.  We see Bruce Wayne with a beard; is he healing from a broken back?  Catwoman seems to be fighting alongside Batman; is she not really a villain but more of an anti-hero like we see in the comics?  Joseph Gordon-Levitt gets a lot of screen time for being “just a cop.” What is his true role in this film?  If you have answers, please feel free to share them because July 20th is so far away and I don’t know if I can wait that long.

SMV – Monday Edition

I’ve become a big fan of Foster The People ever since their album Torches came out.  I won’t lie and say I used to know them way back when or before they were cool or something dumb like that, and I’ll likely never get a chance to see them live, but ever since I first heard them on the radio I’ve loved their sound.  Their videos . . . well, I love too.  They’re occasionally just really trippy.

This one could go the trippy route too, if you let it.  Otherwise, it’s just a lot of fun to an awesome song.  Enjoy! (Thanks to Dave2 for bringing this video to my attention!)

So Invalid

Darth Vader. On a unicycle. Playing bagpipes. Every argument you have ever argued has never been so invalid.

Bat Phone Wins

If you ask anybody who they thought would win in a fight between Batman and anyone else, the answer is usually Batman. If it’s not, then the person is wrong. (Scientific fact!) Batman always wins because, well… he’s Batman. It has now been proven that the case holds true for the Bat Phone too. In a head-to-head showdown between the Bat Phone and the iPhone 4S, the Bat Phone was the clear winner. Don’t believe me? Check out the video.

Deal With It

She’s the Avatar. You gotta deal with it.

New Game Of Thrones Season 2 Trailer

April 1st is going to be an awesome day.

This Doesn’t Suck

If you’ve never seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, and no, I’m not talking about the horrible M. Night Shhyamalan adaptation that was thrust upon us in the theaters a few years ago (let us hope there is never a sequel made…), what’s wrong with you?  It is, in my opinion, one of the greatest cartoons ever made.  Seriously, go sit down and check it out.  You’ll thank me.

Anyways, the cartoon was so epic, that the folks over at Nickelodeon decided that it would be wise to make another Avatar cartoon.  This time, we get treated to The Legend of Korra.  We should see this piece of awesomeness hitting our televisions this fall.  Hopefully spring and summer fly by because I can’t wait to see what adventures will be coming our way.

Mark Your Calendar for March 6

Oh, by the way . . .  Mass Effect 3.

SMV: An Education Lesson on Copyright

Everything is a Remix Part 4 from Kirby Ferguson on Vimeo.

Our system of law doesn’t acknowledge the derivative nature of creativity. Instead, ideas are regarded as property, as unique and original lots with distinct boundaries. But ideas aren’t so tidy. They’re layered, they’re interwoven, they’re tangled. And when the system conflicts with the reality… the system starts to fail.
