The Avengers teaser trailer that was shown at Comic Con has leaked onto the internet. You may want to hurry and watch it before Marvel notices and starts cleaning it up. If you happen to miss it though, you’re not missing much, it’s basically Samuel L. Jackson just talking with the Avengers logo on the screen. Not nearly as awesome as that Thor footage from last week.

Author ArchiveUPDATE: Marvel got to our source too. It took them longer, but they got there. Below is the leaked footage from Comic Con of the upcoming Thor movie. I’m not a big fan of Thor but I was planning on seeing the film when it’s released next summer. After seeing the footage though, I don’t know that I can wait that long. Hurry and watch before it gets taken down.
Unfortunately, I was not able to attend San Diego Comic Con this year. Or any previous year for that matter. This is something that I hope to remedy sometime in the future but by then I’ll probably be in my forties and be called by guys in the comic book store Captain Sweatpants. Or Captain Sweat Stains… I’m not sure which… Anyways, being the geek that I am, I have been valiantly trying to catch up on all of the news that has been leaking out over the past week. Last week I started hearing rumblings about Ryan Reynolds reciting the Green Lantern oath for a little kid but I just finally found some footage of it. If it doesn’t put a smile on your face, then you have a heart of pure darkness. I can only imagine the joy that this kid must have felt. Of course, I’m a bit biased since I’m a Green Lantern fan and can’t hardly wait for the movie to come out. Now that I’ve exercised an act of defiance… Below you will see the reason why every geek must go to San Diego Comic Con at least once: the exclusive toys. As geeks, we all love toys; that’s no secret. Our collections probably drive our spouses insane. We especially love toys that other people are unable to acquire. This is where getting your hands on some of these convention exclusives comes into play. (I think that it’s something to do with our desire to see others want. Probably because we all wanted something, be it girls or the whole collection of Star Wars toys, as we were growing up.) I started playing Civ III a few years back and quickly became addicted which is odd since I’m usually not too big of an RTS fan. I just learned that this fall, Sid Meier will grace us with Civilization V. This news may not be welcome by some, but if you’re a fan of the series, I’m guessing that it’s the best news you’ve heard yet today. (Since it’s still early, this is a fairly safe bet.) Behold the trailer in all its glory! I keep hoping to see Ronald Reagan, Hitler, and Mussolini make their way into the Civ universe. Hopefully this is the time. I haven’t seen G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra yet, although I most eventually will, but I know for a fact that there is no way that can hope to be as awesome as The Ballad of G.I. Joe courtesy of the fine folks over at Funny or Die. Thanks to this all-star cast, which includes Zach Galifiankais as Snow Job and Olivia Wilde as The Baroness, we now know what the Joes and Cobra do when the day is done. Who knew that Destro played the clarinet? Tags: Alan Tudyk, Baroness, Billy Crudup, Chuck Liddell, Destro, G.I. If everything that I just said made you scratch your head and say “huh?”, then you’re obviously not up on your history and should be ashamed of yourself. (What are they teaching kids in schools these days?) Tags: 1980's, betamax, cell phones, history, joystick, videoI just was made aware of this video thanks to Twitter. It is probably the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen. At least for today anyways. Tags: video, vortex cannonI saw this video last week but it had been taken down due to “copyright infringement” so I was never able to actually watch it. I found a new version which will hopefully survive long enough for those of you who haven’t heard Jake Lloyd talk about how The Phantom Menace still affects his life to this day. If I bumped into him on the street, I like to think that I wouldn’t punch him and then say something like “YIPEEE!” but I don’t think I can promise that. Really though, this kid has had a rough life. He’s been the punching bag for those who get tired of beating up on Jar Jar Binks when in reality, he was just playing a character that happened to be cursed with really crappy dialog. Stupid George Lucas and his brain that fell out of his ear… Tags: brain, dialog, Episode I, george lucas, Jake Lloyd, jar jar binks, Star Wars, The Phantom Menace, YIPPEEE |
